So...this photo may seem like it has nothing
to do with the post I am going to do
about this week's 52 drawing lab assignment
but...
tricked you!
It does!
The prompt for this week was called
"My Pet Project"
which...you guessed it...was about drawing your pet.
This exercise was to try to capture your pet
in quick sketches with a charcoal pencil.
I really, really resisted doing this one.
For one thing, I didn't even think I owned a charcoal pencil
so you can imagine my surprise to find out I did!
There is a note in the exercise telling you
not to worry about how these look...
this is a process exercise only.
But it still made it hard for me to
do this...like...really hard.
I just didn't want to.
And unlike the blind contour giraffe,
I did not go into this fighting and then realize I actually loved my final product.
But, I'm still glad that I did it.
I kind of wish I had actually put more time into this one
and a little more open mind as well.
I may try this again, just to experiment.
NEXT UP - A DAY AT THE ZOO...hmmmm....this might be a problem.
Also...if you are wondering what I am doing in this post,
you can read all about it here!
