And

all I heard was
DON'T LET YOUR DREAM DIE.
heh.
First of all...I did not realize that
this was Emma Donoghue's ninth novel.
I had thought that Room was novel
number one for her, for some reason,
otherwise I would have looked for more from her
earlier than this as I had really enjoyed Room.
The Wonder was very intriguing...
set in 1859 in Ireland,
about a nurse sent to "watch" a young girl
to see if she is really and truly
living without eating any food.
I love her style of writing and
the story was very interesting...
I would definitely recommend this one
and will be looking for more books by her!

i am just going to say
this
is not my kind of book.
if you loved it
and it changed your life,
i am totally happy for you!
but...
it's just not my kind of book.
and that's really all i have to say about it.

NEXT UP: THE WONDER - EMMA DONOGHUE
in your own backyard...
or...
maybe in your neighbor's front yard...
or the park across the street...
but
close enough to walk to...
that's my point.
on friday,
after complaining about the
yuckiness of the weather
i met up with a best friend for
treats and laughing
(so much laughing...my face hurt)
at a favorite coffee shop.
it started to pour rain
while we were there
but, by the time i got home,
the sun had come out
and the light
was
magical.
i couldn't stop myself...
i was only going to take a couple photos
but ended up being gone for over 2 hours.
it all started with the park at the end of my street...
and yeah...if you live close to me and
have lilacs...i might have been skulking around your
front yard (totally not brave enough to
skulk around someone's BACK yard...)
and then i found myself outside
Holman's Ice Cream Parlour....
and it IS the month of sundaes soooooooo.....
that sundae
was
OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing...
and then i embarrassed myself a little
but practically laying on the ground
in their gardens to take photos of the flowers
BUT I CAN'T HELP MYSELF.
and the stroll ended at the boardwalk
by the water
as the sun was going down
which is when i realized
that the sun was going down
which meant
june bugs
would be coming out
so i pretty much ran-walk the whole way home...
about the walk i took yesterday
after it rained
and the sun came out
and the light was all golden hour-y
and how i was just going to
take some photos in the yard
but then saw the tree across the street
with all its pretty in pink blossoms
but then...wait a minute, look at the entrance to the park
i'll just walk down that far...
but then i remembered there were lilacs
a little further
and two hours, one sundae and 237 photos later
i was fast walking
to get home before the june bugs
came out....
i was going to tell you about that today
and show you pictures
but...the sun is out...
and the camera battery
is charged
and i think i am just going to have to go
for a drive...
messy hair and all.
hello, saturday.
:)
