Clever and funny
and interesting and
thoughtful…
the characters were quirky,
the plot was tricky,
the writing was
at times deep and made me stop & think
and then laugh out loud
in the next paragraph.
Read this one.

NEXT UP:: THE HOME FOR UNWANTED GIRLS- JOANNA GOODMAN
When your brain is
swirling around incomprehensible
current events and
the fear and panic and sadness
that the people must
be feeling right now,
when everything feels uncertain…
hazy, smudged,
like a fever dream.
And you wonder
what you can do,
what should you do,
can you do anything,
and you try to hold on to
that part of your heart that
is a little bit calm
and so you make yourself
steer away from the news
and you lose yourself in the
internet for a little bit…in the shiny happy places…
for a little bit…
FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE…THE DISTRACT ME EDITION
♥ i want to stay here JUST based on this video alone
♥ i love getting lost in beautiful animation.
♥ mr dress up always makes me feel better.
It was a pretty good week
in the big orange house…mostly.
For some reason,
it was a pretty headache-y week…
but some good things
happened in spite of that.
My IPSY order came!
I didn’t take any photos this time
but this was from the website…
I totally love the lip gloss!
Got a pedicure!
New sparkly toes
all ready for summer
and flip flops
and beach sand!
WATCHING: finished The Act; Million Little Things; finished Inventing Anna - SOOO good!
We Need To Talk About Cosby - finished…SOOOO disturbing.
READING: Anxious People - Fredrik Backman
LISTENING TO: Broken - Jonah Kagen
EATING: bananas dipped in betty crocker chocolate icing
GRATEFUL: the headache went away, chicken fricot, cinnamon-y crescent rolls,
pretty red tulips in a glass vase, pedicure, lunch with the girls, a work lunch
earlier in the week, sparkly light eye shadow.
It took me a little while to finish this
but I did enjoy reading it.
It was interesting to learn
about how she grew up,
how they met,
and reinforced my convictions
that I could never be involved in politics.
I can’t imagine how hard that must be…
that suddenly
your life is no longer your life…
dissected, examined, speculated, judged…
and not even always for
things that should be anyone’s business
or that the judgements/opinions being made
may not have anything to do with decisions
or choices being made,
but rather just a game of strategy and hidden agendas.
I couldn’t do it.
Definitely a good read though…
