and the kittens are poking at the keyboard
and playing with the strings on my hoodie
and trying to catch the cursor
so I put on a bird video for them...
but i still managed to finish two weddings today!
YAY me!
there is a very faint but very distinct light at the end of the tunnel...i can see it!

little girl with a disposable camera and me having a face-off photo-style :)
I love shooting weddings. I really do. Since 2009, I have shot roughly 100 or so weddings. I have had a LOT of fun doing it. I have watched friends marry....laughed with them and cried with them. I have been up in bucket trucks, on the tip of fishing boats, at the top of lighthouses and lots of places in between. From the 3 sisters that each asked me to shoot their special day to shooting my little brother's wedding, I have felt a strong connection to every couple that I worked with. I have fallen flat on my back in a field in front of a wedding party, had beer spilled on me, lost a wedding ring in the sand on a beach until a good samaritan offered his metal detector and found it for us, kicked a radiator in a very echo-y church during the ceremony, shot weddings in the rain, in tropical storms named Ivan and hurricane winds and managed to get lost at least once...but I have also met some people that I now consider friends and pushed myself far outside of my comfort zone in many ways. :)
in the bucket truck!!! So excited...and slightly terrified. :)
All this is leading up to say something that is very hard for me to say.
I am capping my wedding for the 2016 season at what I currently have booked. I know every year I say I am going to do that but this year, I have to. And I am not going to be booking any weddings for the 2017 season. I think I need to take a bit of a break...a breather...a summer off. This has been a very hard decision to make. But I think it's time. Thank you to all of you who have followed my facebook page for so long and put up with my endless posting! :) It made all the difference in the world. <3
photos i did not know where being taken... :)
There will still be lots of posting between now and 2017 though! And stop by here at the blog...where there will still be photos of pugs and antics of kittens and maybe a story or two.
