sunday scribblings

it has been a long time
since i have participated in
sunday scribblings
but i want to challenge myself
to try to write more often
so why not start here.

the prompt was fridge space
and what it brought me was a little snippet
of words that don't rhyme.




and i am left within
the fridge space of your heart
cold and empty
with only the bare necessities
to keep me alive

the light
only comes on
when you
look
at me.

friday-i'm-in-love (with-the-everyday-stuff)

i originally took this photo as an idea for the
celebration theme
for SPC
but then, didn't use it...

i love the SUPER FURNACE...it was brought
into the office to keep me from (quitting) freezing
and it throws off an immense amount of heat
plus
i love the retro graphic SUPER FURNACE
and saying SUPER FURNACE just like that...
(yes...it is in this post that i admit how strange i really am)

my book...
my go-everywhere-list-everything-hold-everything-
in-with-2-rubber-bands book...
initially...i wasn't sure...
it wasn't my color...
and i had never used spiral bound before

but the pages make an endearing crinkly sound
when i turn them
and i have stuffed it with bookmarks and
printed off recipes
and song lyrics
and lists of lists with more lists listing lists.

and on the back, i have rubber-banded
my favorite-ist blank paper pad
sent to me by the cutest l'il blogger
so that i have no excuse not to doodle
(please excuse the dark pictures)

my constant companion,
my connection..
my plug-in
refuge
find-out-what's-going-on-in-the-world
or
hide-from-the-world
daydream
addiction...
that provides
my connection
to all of you...

5 really good things on a wednesday...

- eight feeling better after having to be
taken to hospital at 2 am
for an earache...so sad to see him hurting
and scared...
but he is starting to feel better now.
-having a husband that can fix the impromptu
surprise!
leak in the bathroom that ruined the ceiling
in the living room below it
(without even cursing...a whole lot...)

-changing my "area" around to make it a little
more functionable...
and then having some free time
to actually spend in my "area"

-warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream

-ham with maple and brown sugar glaze

one day of sun and blue sky
and now back to being wakened by
the heavy pelting of frozen drizzle
hitting our windows...

since i missed
friday-i'm-in-love
i will share it now,
the condensed version:

-talking to my mom on the phone last night and hearing her
so excited about their trip to Vegas! (they leave today)

-knowing i did the right thing by ripping back my knitting
because the re-do looks so much better.

-starting this book and knowing right away that it's going
to be a good one...

-warm and soft flannel blankets, shared.

-the kid's using their floam to make "a new species"
and then writing about them so that i could put it
on my blog...



the pictures are dark and grainy..but what isn't lately?
